Sugar Rush, Bangkok – Thailand

You may be tempted to lick the walls inside the Victory Monument mall where a candy-colored zone, the Sugar Rush zone, hausing almost a dozen dessert cafes and bakeries, was unveiled on 1 October.
The artwork skillfully sways between a balanced musicality and choreography between the physical space and light. Like a musical score, with its high and low notes, its flat and sharp tones, its rhythm variations and silences. It shows how an interior space can be completely reinvented and revealed in the form of a parallel universe which unveils the way light interacts with space, shapes, dimensions and proportions, by generating shadows or highlights, colors, contrasts, illuminance and intensities : all these factors combined blur the line between reality and illusion. A theoretical cosmogony and surreal fauvist landscape revealing a sense of liveliness and gaiety along with depth and a profound meaning beyond the merely functional purpose of a place.
