The Bombay Sweet Shop is a new celebratory initiative of Hunger Inc. The timely launch marks Hunger Inc.’s five-year anniversary and appropriately places emphasis on the sweets that have shaped all our happy occasions. However, it is not about mithai as we know it.
Staying true to its ethos of ‘re-creation’, the thinking that guided The Bombay Canteen and also shaped O Pedro, the company analysed Indian sweets and the tradition of giving sweets through a new lens. The team explored India, gathering knowledge, recipes and techniques from the masters.
In the pastry shop, the chefs twisted these traditions to create sweets that look and sound familiar, yet arouse surprise and wonder in both presentation and flavours.
