My name is Mickaël Gouret and I am an interior designer.
My journey begins in Paris, at the G+K agency, founded by Karine Martin and Gaël Cuisy. It was there that I got my start, notably by collaborating on the show La Maison France 5, for which I made a weekly make-over of a small Parisian interior. The pace was intense – two projects a week – but formative. I learned the profession with a formidable efficiency, in contact with very varied profiles, in always different spaces and contexts. It was also a very concrete way to discover Paris: apartment by apartment, neighborhood by neighborhood.
Subsequently, I joined the agency of Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, an iconic house of French design. It was a shift towards the world of luxury, through large-scale projects such as those carried out for Alain Ducasse, Van Cleef and Arpels, the Parc des Princes, Dorchester Collection or even the Haeberlin family in Alsace. Very quickly, my work took on a marked orientation towards the hotel and restaurant industry, a universe in which I feel particularly comfortable.
What I like about these projects is the possibility to go further in creative expression. Far from the often very personal and intimate setting of the residential, the design of a restaurant or hotel allows to invent universes, to create exceptional bubbles where the visitor enters for a few hours or days, and which he will not forget.
In 2018, I founded my own agency and settled on the French Riviera. Today, we work with many people, surrounded by passionate collaborators, and develop projects in hospitality, catering, but also residential, with the same requirement: to offer spaces that tell a story, an atmosphere, an emotion.
My philosophy? Never lose the taste for the game. Design must remain a field of freedom, of unexpected, of intuition. I believe in surprise, lightness, the idea that a place can be both elegant and joyful, rigorous and offbeat. My references often come from cinema, pop culture, atmospheres, details seen or felt somewhere. What I seek is not simply to create beauty, but life.
