ADA, Buenos Aires – Argentina

Project description

Located in the heart of Distrito Arenales, one of Buenos Aires’ most vibrant and design-forward neighborhoods, ADA is a café and wine bar that invites guests to pause amidst the rhythm of the city. More than just a gastronomic space, ADA is an architectural experience carefully crafted to blend warmth, hospitality, and a serene visual identity.
From a design perspective, the project is built on a clear premise: to create a contemporary refuge where the everyday becomes meaningful. The material palette supports this intent with honesty and subtlety—light wood, soft textiles, warm tones, and natural textures combine to establish a timeless, curated atmosphere. Natural light plays a leading role, pouring in through large folding windows that open the interior entirely toward the street. This gesture dissolves the boundary between inside and outside, integrating the public realm into the spatial experience.
At the core of the layout is the central bar, framed by suspended metal shelving that brings rhythm, lightness, and vertical movement to the space. This element not only organizes circulation but also gives ADA its distinctive visual signature. The architectural geometry—featuring structural arches and exposed concrete ceilings—creates a dialogue with the carefully selected furnishings: solid wood tables and chairs with simple, elegant lines that reinforce the space’s calm and welcoming nature.
The color palette, dominated by neutrals, earthy tones, and subtle green accents, is complemented by warm and focused lighting, adapting to different moments of the day. ADA operates as a café during the day and transitions into a wine bar in the evening, maintaining its intimate and immersive character throughout.
Every design decision—from the open façade to the selection of materials—serves a larger idea: to craft a space where one can stay, talk, and return. ADA doesn’t seek to impress through extravagance, but rather through balance and refinement. It is, ultimately, an architecture designed for pause, connection, and quiet enjoyment.
