Isabella Cucina Italiana transports guests to an old-world Roman courtyard, blending the richness of Italian cultural heritage with contemporary fine dining in the heart of Dubai’s Vida Emirates Hills. The design harmonises warmth and elegance, marrying traditional aesthetics with modern functionality to create an immersive, multi-zoned hospitality experience.
A layered spatial strategy mirrors the vibrancy and conviviality of an Italian piazza. Diverse seating arrangements from intimate private booths to alfresco-style configurations and a dramatic mezzanine lounge offer guests both privacy and social engagement. The mezzanine, thoughtfully integrated despite site constraints, expands capacity while preserving intimacy, reflecting the fluid dining culture of Italy. Central to the theatricality of the space is an exposed pizza lift, an engaging feature that not only enhances operational efficiency but also invites guests into the craft of the kitchen.
The project’s innovation lies in its fusion of tradition with modern functionality. The custom-designed pizza lift not only solves operational challenges but also enhances guest engagement through theatrical storytelling. The mezzanine level optimises space without compromising intimacy, addressing post-pandemic dining shifts. Bespoke, globally curated elements including South African artwork, Turkish furniture, Australian fabrics and UK-crafted lighting elevate the project’s exclusivity. The design’s holistic approach extends beyond interiors to influence brand identity, making Isabella Cucina Italiana a fully immersive experience. By reimagining the Italian courtyard as a dynamic, multi-zoned fine dining space, the project sets a new precedent for hospitality design in Dubai.
Material authenticity and tactile richness define the interiors. Handmade terracotta tiles, textured concrete, wrought iron, and reclaimed wooden furniture form the foundation, complemented by floral textiles, globally sourced artwork, and bespoke chandeliers. These elements are interwoven with curated patterns and artisanal details including South African ceramics, Turkish furniture, and Australian textiles, fostering a global dialogue in craftsmanship.
Sustainability principles are embedded throughout the project, with low-impact materials, non-toxic finishes, and energy-efficient technologies shaping its footprint. Handcrafted production processes reduce industrial processing, reinforcing the authenticity and environmental consideration behind each design choice.
The design extends beyond the interiors, influencing branding, signage, and even staff attire to ensure a cohesive narrative.
