Musafir, Regina – Canada

Project description

Musafir Indian Cuisine & Sweets brings Regina its first fine dining Indian restaurant, redefining an existing corner-unit space into a destination of cultural and culinary elegance. The original setting offered only one window and limited natural light, presenting a challenge that became central to the design story.
Lighting was used as the main creative tool to transform the atmosphere. Custom fixtures were introduced not only to illuminate but also to decorate, creating layers of warmth and depth that guide the dining experience. Each fixture becomes a design accent, adding character and shaping the mood of the interior.
The design balances modern restraint with cultural richness. Materials, tones, and textures were selected to evoke the essence of Indian heritage while presenting it in a refined, contemporary language. Instead of relying on heavy ornamentation, the space emphasizes subtle sophistication, allowing the environment to feel both welcoming and elevated.
Spatial planning redefined the corner layout, ensuring fluid movement, comfort, and versatility for both intimate and social gatherings. Every detail was considered with the guest experience in mind, allowing the restaurant’s culinary offerings to be complemented by a thoughtful and immersive setting.
What makes Musafir original is not the scale of its transformation but the vision behind it. By turning a modest shell into a fine dining landmark, the project highlights how design can shift perception, creating an atmosphere where light, culture, and cuisine merge into a singular experience. Musafir is more than a restaurant—it is a journey that reshapes Regina’s dining landscape.
