Né de Loup, Winnipeg – Canada

Project description

Designed for small gatherings and meaningful moments, it’s a place where the taste and feel of history create an ambiance that feels as though you’re being transported to a timeless, European hideaway. And while walking in may seem like you’re stepping into another city, it simultaneously holds you like you’re exactly where you need to be, right at home in this moody, cozy space.
This desire to insert history into the space is also reflected in the name, Né de Loup, a French translation meaning “Wolf-Born.” Chef Scott Bagshaw’s love of Roman Mythology and history, is not only held in the namesake, but quietly and intentionally adorned on the walls. Custom cherub vinyl wall covering depicts Remus and Romulus, brothers who according to the myth, were raised by a wolf mother and later founded the the city of Rome — which by many accounts, also just so happens to be the birth place of culinary arts.
Plush, rounded banquettes nestle you in, creating private nooks around striking Verias Green Marble tables. These private alcoves and small tables throughout, invite deep conversation and connection. This intimate dining feel is reinforced through dark woods, dim lighting, and rich, textured fabrics.
A refined yet playful take on classic French dining, this intimate space serves as the backdrop to Chef Scott Bagshaw’s vision of delivering French food with a modern feel to a small crowd.
