Nose Tea, The Fourth, Nakhon Pathom – Thailand

Project description

When tasked with creating a space for a brand that sells not just a product but an experience, we began with a question: How can architecture speak the same language as a cup of tea? How can one ‘taste’ a space through sight and touch? For us, true flavor isn’t confined to the palate; it resonates in every sensation that surrounds us.
This philosophy is embodied in Nose Tea The Fourth, located at The Fourth project on Phutthamonthon Sai 4. Our goal was not merely to build another tea shop, but to craft a ‘sensory laboratory’ a space where the delicate essence of tea is translated into tangible, physical form.
Our inspiration was drawn from the brand’s signature element: the gentle, flowing lines of cream cheese. We were captivated by this soft movement and sought to translate it into an architectural language. This led to the concept of a ‘Handcrafted Space’ where every curve and surface feels meticulously sculpted by hand, mirroring the precision and care inherent in the art of tea preparation.
To invite interaction, we designed a journey guided by continuous, curved walls. These elements lead the eye and the body in a slow, deliberate movement, encouraging visitors to feel as though they are following the path of meandering cream cheese. From the moment they step inside, every element is designed to create an enveloping, warm, and seamless experience much like the sensation of taking a sip of fine tea.
Materiality and color were crucial. We chose a warm orange hue not just for its visual identity, but for the ’emotional temperature’ it imparts to the space. This color was applied using a technique that results in a finely textured yet seamless surface, unifying the curves and forms into a single, cohesive entity.
A form is incomplete without light. We treat light and shadow as essential details that breathe life into the architecture. The walls and apertures are designed to interact with the changing natural light throughout the day. In the morning sun, the orange feels soft and bright. As evening approaches, the light casts deep, dramatic shadows along the curves, transforming the space into a serene, warm sanctuary, an image reminiscent of cream cheese melting and shifting in tone.
For us, designing for Nose Tea was an act of ‘reinterpretation.’ We believe that good architecture should ‘extend’ a brand’s identity, pushing it into new physical and emotional dimensions. This space is our commitment to that idea to create a destination that not only reflects the soul of Nose Tea but also presents new possibilities for how the brand can be felt and experienced.
Ultimately, Nose Tea The Fourth is more than a tea shop. It is a dialogue between taste and architecture. A small space that invites people to savor more than what is in their cup, but to perceive the movement, the detail, and the intention infused into every line of our design.
