Pixel XL Katowice is an interactive space where the retro aesthetics of the 1980s and 1990s meet contemporary design. The interior concept is based on the motifs of grids and pixels, creating dynamic, geometric compositions made of illuminated modules and mirrored surfaces.
At the heart of the space is a futuristic stainless steel bar, its form reminiscent of a Tetris puzzle. Bold colors, neon lights, and unique materials – such as speckled vinyl and blue mirror – enhance the immersive character of the venue. A seamless blend of gaming zones, lounge areas, and dining spaces fosters interaction, transporting visitors into a world of digital nostalgia and vibrant entertainment.
Pixel XL is designed to evoke the nostalgic spirit of the ’80s and ’90s while integrating cutting-edge technology. The space is filled with neon glow, vivid colors, and retro accents.
One of the biggest challenges was the extensive renovation of an old building and integrating modern technologies into its existing structure. The location chosen for the new Pixel XL was the former “Junior” building in Katowice – a recognizable site with significance in the context of modernist architecture. An interesting feature of the project is the preserved original ceiling in the main hall – small domes from the 1960s – which, when paired with metallic paint, create a futuristic visual effect.
