Located in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, SOL is a landmark dining destination designed to merge timeless tradition with bold modernity. The restaurant spans over 26,000 sq. ft. across three architecturally distinct floors, each curated to evoke the soul of hospitality, warmth, and shared experience.
Design Concept
SOL takes inspiration from the mythological solar deity who embodies warmth, light, and life. This mythic energy is channeled into every design detail—from the central solar tower that anchors the space, to custom-crafted furniture and ancient-inspired murals that narrate the restaurant’s story.
The design seamlessly fuses Art Deco, loft, and steampunk elements with contemporary aesthetics. Textured concrete, rusted metal, natural stone, and tactile wood form the material palette, while hues of sun-soaked amber, ochre, and gold suffuse the interiors with a radiant warmth.
Spatial Experience
Ground Floor: A dramatic bar crowned by a soaring solar tower sets the tone. Deco-patterned metalwork and sculptural lighting evoke celestial grandeur.
Second Floor: Intimate cocktail zones and curated tasting rooms framed by sun god murals and bespoke furnishings. A dual-sided wine display acts as a functional divider and visual centerpiece.
Third Floor: A summer terrace adorned with natural planks and raw stone overlooks La Izvor Park. Cozy lounge-style seating invites long conversations under the sky.
Culinary Identity
SOL’s cuisine is as layered as its interiors—where Mediterranean and Balkan roots meet contemporary technique. Open-fire cooking takes center stage, echoing the hearth at the heart of ancient homes. The menu encourages exploration, from comfort classics to molecular innovation.
Mission & Philosophy
More than a restaurant, SOL redefines the ritual of dining. It celebrates the joy of gathering, the art of slowness, and the craft of modern cuisine. It’s a space where guests feel at home, unhurried and seen—where tradition is not just remembered, but lived.
