Interior design and redesign of the Craft Cigar Club in the heart of Barcelona’s Ciutat Vella. A complete renovation of an old establishment built in the early 20th century has been converted into an exclusive private club.
In the heart of Ciutat Vella, the new The Craft Cigar Club was built in a former early 20th-century apartment, carefully transformed into an exclusive private club with the soul of a speakeasy.
The project respected and enhanced the original architecture, preserving historic elements such as the woodwork, exposed ceiling beams, and tobacco-colored ceramic flooring, which connects directly with the world of the cigar lounge. This architectural foundation has been reinterpreted through an aesthetic language inspired by the American underground clubs of the 1920s and 1930s.
Deep green tones, elegantly textured wallpapers, antique mirrors, classic chandeliers, and indirect lighting integrated into the wooden beams create a warm, sophisticated, and enveloping atmosphere. The main furnishings, such as Chesterfield sofas, Elizabethan pieces, and Victorian touches, reinforce the space’s timeless and stately character.
Custom-designed golden curtains drape the rooms with theatricality and fluidity, following the light as it travels.
The cigar cellar and the new bar area, integrated into a reclaimed original piece of furniture, have been designed with special attention to detail, seeking functionality without sacrificing character.
In the hallways and transitional areas, a more subdued atmosphere envelops the visitor: gray tones, dark furniture, and contrasting golden details such as hanging wind instruments, brass sconces, and antique mirrors add shine and depth without disrupting the intimacy of the space.
The result is an immersive, elegant, and historic space, where every corner has been designed to experience the ritual of tobacco with calm, style, and authenticity.
