The Pelican Club has officially made its mark in the Bahrain Financial Harbour, introducing a vibrant brasserie designed by award-winning DLSM Studio. Working in collaboration with Dubai-based hospitality consultants Meraki & Modus, the studio has created a dazzling setting that redefines brasserie dining in the Gulf.
DLSM Studio developed the design narrative, ‘Tropical Sensation – A Spectacular Show for the Senses’, which immerses guests in an atmosphere that captures the warmth, colour, and charisma of Art Deco Miami. Golden light installations shimmer across plush velvets, lush planting frames art deco-inspired detailing, and curated artworks evoke the glamour of the Magic City. The result is an immersive space that feels both elegant and relaxed, drawing upon Florida’s Cuban exoticism to create an iconic destination.
The material palette was carefully chosen to reinforce the brand’s narrative. Beautiful cut glass chandeliers glisten, bouncing light of the antique mirror ceiling. Intricate marble and travertine flooring, Christopher Farr upholstery, and statement seating create a rich aesthetic. Every detail has been designed to balance comfort with luxury – an everyday sophistication.
The space itself has been thoughtful planned, to provide areas of social seating alongside more intimate zones, such as the unique, wicker cocooned booth. The design plays with the architecture of the building to enhance the design narrative, with the introduction of florid columns and a space that flexes to work as a PDR, open restaurant seating or the perfect setting for live entertainment.
One of the visual heroes of the space is the back bar with a striking sunburst design which is crafted out of stained glass and strategically lit and reflected in the mirrored ceiling to create drama, complimented by the bar front clad in amber coloured cut glass. This space demands attention, bursting with colour and glamour to define the cosmopolitan atmosphere.
The interiors balance playful art deco geometry with lush tropical planting, reinforcing the “Tropical Sensation” theme at every turn. Striped panelling, bold feathered chandeliers, and patterned flooring sit harmoniously alongside swaying palms and soft velvet banquettes, creating an environment that is both opulent and inviting.
