Vulcanos Chapalita is the second location of a Chicago-style pizza restaurant founded by a family that is deeply involved in every step of the process—from selecting high-quality ingredients to delivering attentive, detail-oriented service. That same level of care extends into the architectural design, where every decision is made with the guest experience in mind.
Set in one of Guadalajara’s most iconic neighborhoods, where terraces play a key role in the city’s urban life and its connection with the street, the project takes this element as its starting point. Each space is designed to open to the outdoors, blurring the lines between inside and out, and emphasizing cross ventilation and abundant natural light.
The layout offers a variety of spatial experiences through a series of terraces, accommodating everything from festive gatherings to intimate or private encounters. At the heart of the space, a central bar—framed by three vaulted ceilings—acts as the visual and functional core, echoing the curves of the back bar.
Warmth and material richness define the atmosphere: pigmented stucco, travertine, and natural woods compose a serene yet immersive palette. Integrated vegetation, both interior and exterior, dissolves physical boundaries and creates a fluid transition between architecture and its surroundings, making Vulcanos a truly sensorial dining environment.
